Arabica Whole Bean

Our coffee is from a high quality arabica bean, sustainably grown by a cooperative of ethnic K'ho families near Dalat, Vietnam.  It is led by Rolan whose farm has been in her family since the 1860s.  The fertile volcanic soils at over 1000m are ione of the highest points in Southern Vietnam.  This enables the farmers to grow the arabica bean which needs high altitude.  Natural farming methods are used to avoid the use of pesticides.  They use compost fertilizer and never spray with chemical pesticides.  The goal is to grow the perennial ground peanut grass (as recommended by the university of Hawaii agriculture) to fix nitrogen in the soil and for retaining soil humidity.  The grass is cut and fed to their pigs which help’s produce the compost fertilizer.
